About Dig IT Solutions

A local IT company that behaves like your own IT department

Founded in Enfield in 2001, based in Hoddesdon since 2017, and still run by the two directors who started it. This is who you would be trusting with administrator access.

Our story

From an Enfield high street to Hertfordshire’s business parks

Dig IT Solutions started on Hertford Road in Enfield, a few doors from businesses that are still clients today. The early work was hands-on: building and fixing computers, networking local offices, and gradually taking on the whole IT function for local firms who wanted one number to call. The 020 8482 4020 number on this site is the same line those first clients rang.

The company was formed in July 2001. As clients grew from single offices into multi-site operations, the work moved with them: site-to-site networks, Microsoft 365, server and cloud backup, endpoint security and the monitoring that lets our engineers look after a lot of machines properly.

In 2017 the business moved to larger premises in Hoddesdon, putting it in the middle of the Lea Valley’s industrial estates, within half an hour of most of Hertfordshire and west Essex, and with easy access to the M25 for central London.

Today the focus is managed IT support and cyber security for organisations of up to 250 users: law firms, accountants, clinics, construction and plant hire companies, estate agents, recruitment agencies, charities, leisure venues and the growing businesses in between.

How we work

Six things we hold ourselves to

  • 01

Fix the cause, not the symptom

A ticket is closed when the reason it happened is dealt with. Repeat faults are a failure on our side, and we track them.

  • 02

Say what we do not know

If a problem is outside our experience we say so and bring in the right specialist, rather than experimenting on your systems.

  • 03

    Security is not optional

We will not run a managed environment without MFA, endpoint protection and tested backups. Clients who want to opt out of those are not a good fit for us.

  • 04

    No lock-in by obscurity

Your documentation, credentials and data are yours and are handed over in full if you ever leave. We keep clients by being useful.

  • 05

    Engineers who know your setup

The engineer who answers has usually been to your office and knows your systems. That is how we choose to work, and we intend to keep it.

  • 06

    Straight answers on money

Monthly pricing is published, projects are fixed-price after a survey, and nothing renews without a conversation.

The two people ultimately responsible for your systems, and still the people who answer the phone.

Why Dig IT

What you actually get from a local IT partner

Most IT companies promise proactive support and peace of mind. These are the specific things that are different about working with us.
  1. 01

Based in Hoddesdon, not a call centre

Our engineers work from Datum House on Essex Way and drive to you. Most of Hertfordshire and west Essex is under 30 minutes away, and the business started in Enfield, so North London is familiar ground.

  2. 02

    You speak to engineers

There is no account-manager layer between you and the person fixing the problem. Client reviews name the engineer who did the work, and we think that is how it should be.

  3. 03

Clients who stay for a decade

Mr Plant Hire has trusted us across multiple depots for over fifteen years. We keep clients by fixing causes rather than symptoms, not by making it hard to leave.

  4. 04

Security is in the contract, not an upsell

Endpoint detection and response, MFA, email filtering, patching and tested backups are part of managed support. It is the baseline every insurer and larger client now expects.

  5. 05

    The whole premises, one team

Networks, Wi-Fi, cabling, phones and CCTV are installed and supported by the same people who run your helpdesk. No two suppliers blaming each other.

  6. 06

    Straight answers on cost

Per-user or per-device monthly pricing, an online calculator, and projects quoted fixed-price after a survey. Nothing auto-renews without a conversation.

What clients say about working with us

Reviews left on Google by the businesses we support. Several name the engineer who did the work, which is how we like it.
“Dig IT Solutions helped us reorganise our messy network cabinet. They rewired and renumbered all Ethernet ports, installed a secure switch, and set up a shared drive for staff use. Everything was completed efficiently and to a high standard. I'm very pleased with the outcome and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dig IT Solutions to anyone needing reliable IT support.”

FAQ

About us: common questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call 020 8482 4020 or 01992 939 365 and ask an engineer.
How long has Dig IT Solutions been trading?
Since July 2001. The business started on Hertford Road in Enfield and moved to larger premises in Hoddesdon in 2017. It trades today through Digit Computer Solutions Limited, and it is still run by the two directors who founded it.
How big is the team?
We are a team of engineers and directors, currently around six people. It means the person you speak to knows your environment, and we are selective about growth so that quality does not drop. Larger projects are staffed with trusted specialist partners under our management.
Who are the directors?
Vince, Managing Director, and Paul, Technical Director. Both co-founded the business in 2001 and both are still hands-on with clients.
Do you hold certifications or partner accreditations?
We deploy and support Microsoft 365, Ubiquiti UniFi, Cisco Meraki, Synology, HP, Dell, 8x8 and Exclaimer daily, and we build every client environment around the Cyber Essentials controls. For our own certifications and programme memberships, ask us and we will show you the current position rather than a wall of badges.
Do you still repair laptops and computers for the public?
Our focus is managed IT support and cyber security for businesses. Hardware supply and repair is available to business clients as part of that service. If you are an individual looking for a repair, call us and we will point you in the right direction.
